Bombay II (Sewerage project)
PHE was appointed in association with IWs. Engineering Science
Inc. (Parsons Group)of USA, for carrying out the detailed engineering
design and construction supervision for Bombay II -Sewerage project
by the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai in the year 1979.
This project was an IDA aided project, financed by World bank.
The total estimated cost of the project was Indian Rs.3500 million
(US $ 400 million). The scope of works included conducting surveys,
water quality studies and field investigations for various marine
structures, pumping stations and treatment facilities. Some of
the surveys and studies conducted include:

- Submarine
investigations like sea bed profiling, bathymetric studies,
current pattern studies and scno sounding for 3km marine outfall.

- Geothermal
investigation for the design of
12km. long tunnel
|
- Hydraulic
model studies to locate areas for proposed marine structures.
|

Underground structures for pumping stations about 30 metres
deep.
|
Besides
this the scope of work also included detailed engineering design
and preparation of drawings, specifications & tender documents
for the following:

22 large sized sewage pumping stations
|
- 2
major intercepting tunnels
|
- Several
kilometers of urban sewers
|

Sewage treatment plants including aerated lagoons

Ltd. (Navi Mumbai)
PHE prepared a techno-economic feasibility report and carried
out detail engineering & design for Sewage conveyance / disposal
schemes and sewage treatment plant for Nerul and Airoli nodes
of Navi Mumbai for City and Industrial Development Corporation
Ltd.(CIDCO).

Design review of existing sewerage system and designing the Sewerage
System for Kalamboli Node.
|
Review the adequacy of pumping station and redesigning the same
including preparation of detailed specifications and supervision
of works.
|
Preparation of Master Plan for Sewerage System, BOQ, tender documents
for Sanpada node of Navi Mumbai.
|
Consultancy Services for detailed engineering and design of Trunk
Sewer and soil investigation for establishing reclamation levels
for Belapur Mode.
